Electrical Discharge Machining

Spark erosion machining is a modern cutting process, in the course of which a controlled electric arc discharge between the electrode and the workpiece removes material from the workpiece. It is a high-precision process, in which we can typically machine optional internal shapes. At 4S-2000 Ltd, both wire and die-sinking erosion machining are available technologies applied for producing special parts for our customers.

Wire: 770x490x250 mm workpiece size

die-sinking: 850x500x200 mm workpiece size

accuracy of up to 0.1 - 1 micron can be achieved

Our Charmilles wire spark erosion machine allows the machining of 850 x 500 x 200 mm workpieces within an effective range of 400 x 250 x 200 mm with a maximum 30 degree conic cutting capability. With a machine having 0.1-0.3 mm wire diameter, with automatic wire-feed, realizing a non-immersible cutting, an accuracy of up to 0.1 - 1 micron can be achieved.
